C manual does not mention anything about using the card for modem communication or as a terminal.Īs I mentioned earlier, one of the cards that I have is probably rev. C also targets printing since it is similar to 7710-01. Changing communications parameters is also different when done through the driver. One of the main differences is that 7710-01 appends a line feed after a carriage return and that by default every sequence of 255 characters is appended with CR/LF. B manual on page 5, and more in detail from page 14. The differences are described in the rev. B, differences between 7710-02 are large when the listings are compared it is described how 7710-01 is mainly targeted at printing while 7710-02 is targeted at terminal mode and modem communication. So the manual gets us most of the way there, but not quite.ĦC 9D B8 06 STA CHCNT,X ZERO CHARACTER COUNTERįor rev. It has three aspects to consider: first, how to control, read and write to the card second, integrating it into the UI to choose it manually and thrid, a recognition algorithm to detect if this card is inserted. I'm afraid the solution is to write and integrate a new driver into ADTPro for this card. It might be that the CCS would ultimately talk at 115200 using the same SSC trick if not, it could be made to talk at 19200 for sure.

And that's why the full program doesn't help your situation either - it simply doesn't know how to deal with your card. Right now, ADTPro doesn't know how to set or read the configuration of your card - so it's not getting past the ROM-based I/O that the first step of speediboot takes.

Since ADTPro is talking directly to the hardware, it doesn't help to slow down - it still needs to have what amounts to a driver to interface with the CCS card no matter what. Years ago, it used to be infinitely configurable at all speeds, but there really is no reason not to go full speed. There's a trick using the external clock on the SSC that gets it to kick into the 115200 mode, and there's no good reason to go any slower than that with the supported hardware (SSC and IIgs). In order to go as fast as it does, ADTPro talks to serial controlers at the hardware level. Somewhat related: how can 115200 baud work? The Super Serial Card does not seem to support it, according to its manual (my 7710 card does not support it either).Īny suggestions to make this work? Thanks, Patrick I use an USB audio stick for audio in/out (my laptop does not have an audio in jack) and an FTDI USB to serial adapter for the serial communication. The ADTPro client does not work with audio either because the cassette out/mic in signal is too weak for my MacBook Pro. Is there a way to use 9600 baud in ADTPro for communication (I can only choose between 19200)? I managed to make an ADTPro boot disk with an audio upload, but when I boot from this disk, serial communication also does not work (tried it with 960 baud switch settings on my comm card). When I send ProDOS and the serial client, a black screen appears when the client starts. I can send the Speediboot bootstrap with the comm card on 9600 baud (typing only IN#2 ctrl-a does not work for this card), but when the transfer is complete I receive the message "ADTPRO SERIAL BOOTSTRAPPER FOUND NO SERIAL SLOT." With the comm card on 19200 baud, this does not work and I see garbage being transferred (the 19200 speed setting cannot be selected for bootstrapping).
